Call For Art: Ramblebine Brewery

GJ Creates in partnership with Ramblebine Brewing Company, is seeking an artist to complete a mural at 457 Colorado Avenue. The artist will complete a mural approximately 385 square feet in size on the north east side of the brewery, above the patio garage doors.

  • One artist will be selected. Project award is $3,000 + scaffolding cost
  • Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Applications are closed.

Project Description:

Ramblebine Brewing Company is an independently owned, local craft brewery, located at 457 Colorado Avenue. Ramblebine has been a catalyst for the Colorado Avenue block, recently renovating their space into a destination brewery.

Located on a main thoroughfare into Downtown Grand Junction, this new mural installation will help beautify the southern entrance into downtown, and create new vibrancy along Colorado Avenue.

The selected artist will complete a mural approximately 385 square feet in size. Exact size and shape of the mural is open to the artist’s interpretation. The space available to paint is roughly 13.5 feet x 41 feet (shown above in highlighted area). Artists are not expected to cover the entire area, however a successful proposal will utilize most of the available space.

Note – the space identified for the mural is located 13 feet off the ground, above the east patio. Artists are expected to be comfortable working at height. GJ Creates will cover the rental cost of equipment needed to install the mural. That cost is not included in the project award total.

The subject matter should incorporate themes closely associated to the Ramblebine brand. Themes include but are not limited to: exploration and discovery. Proposals will be evaluated by overall creativity, design, and aesthetic. The project concept will be approved by the GJ Creates committee and a representative from Ramblebine Brewing Company. The selected artist will be notified by August 4, 2021.
